Third time wasn’t a charm.
It wasn’t that the burger wasn’t good — it was very good to excellent if a bit too large. (I couldn’t finish it.) The problem was the cost. By the time we were done with appetizers and the others were done drinking alcohol and $45 cups of coffee, our bill came to $587.
For me, that was $98 for a burger and a couple of app nibbles.
I’m not certain if that episode ended my Burger Boy career — a similar situation in 1998 ended a similar group I started called The Seattle Steak Club — but another similar episode certainly will.
