This afternoon the Jenkins family ventured east to Bellevue, a rare trip. Our destination was the home of Norman and Mito Cheuk. The occasion: their NFL Championship party.
Suffice it to say that the vast majority of the Packers-Seahawks game stunk. Russell Wilson played like he was hung over, we had more false start penalties than they did, and the Green Bay boys manhandled us on both sides of the ball. With the Seahawks down 19-7 late in the fourth quarter, I had my coat on ready to hit the road. But we couldn’t find the kids so we decided to stay.
The Seahawks scored 15 points in the last 2:09 of the game before finally winning 28-22 in overtime. The game is being widely described by NFL commentators as one of the greatest conference championship game in history.
I, for one, will never forget it.
