For about the past three months I’ve been combining a variety of techniques to knock the Saint Bernard jowels off my face and get myself as lean as possible for the summer walkfest that will be Bandon Dunes. Mostly it’s been the Beachbody Power 90 (Tony Horton), which I’ve done pretty religiously the last ninety days. I’ve also done two two-day fasts — the last one I finished this morning.
The results are in. I started at 179.2 on February 20. On May 20, I weighed in at 159.0. That’s twenty pounds, or about 11.16% of my body weight. I’ve also gotten a ton stronger — at least with the muscles I use to do Power 90. The keg that is my stomach is still there, but it’s a smidge smaller. My 32-waste pants are about an inch too big for me.
Granted, the results are a little misleading. I lost six pounds alone during my fast the past two days. No doubt I’ll put some of that back on. But it still counts, and given that my goal was to get to 165, I’d say I accomplished it with flying colors.
Next up: P90x.
