As if the Saturday celebration wasn’t enough, last night the family Jenkins officially celebrated Reese’s fifth birthday.  As usual, she did quite well in the presents department.   Unfortunately she didn’t get the one thing her mom and dad most wish for — a brother that behaves.

A few pics:

The birthday girl!

The gratuitous pics …

with the parental units.

The cute pic notwithstanding, Finn was less than an angel on this night …

as this picture of him blowing out Reese’s candles suggests.

A perfectly pleasant setting.

Credit to Ronnie 100%.

Yesterday the family Jenkins and twelve of Reese’s closest friends celebrated her fifth birthday.  The theme was “ballerina”: all the girls dressed up in pink tutus and Rhonda hired a ballet teacher to come in and teach them a few basics.

Thanks as always to Ronnie, good times were had by all.   Unfortunately I did not do a particularly good job as cameraman: lots of shots of the girls, but of the adults not so many:

A well-instructed party.

Even Ollie got in to the swing of things.

Everyone ate quite well.

Making a wish.

Cutting the very, very tasty cake.

The girls really got into playing golf in the back yard …

and running in the front yard — for no apparent reason.

A little post-party r&r before another big event later that day.

(Uncle) Jeff Benezra missed out on Reese’s birthday party Sunday night, so tonight he made up for it by taking Reese and I out for a night out at Bellevue Square. We started at Build-A-Bear, where Reese built not a bear but a kitty, and a princess kitty at that:

Reese dubbed her new friend “Ariel” — why I don’t know.

We finished the night — surprise! — with dinner, this one at The Cheesecake Factory, where Reese celebrated with yet another mountain of sweets:

Aside from feeling that we looked very much like “two dads” — not that there’s anything wrong with that — good times were had by all.

Reese turned the big 0-4 on Saturday, and as per usual we had some friends over to celebrate. I thought this was going to be a mellow, cake-only shindig. I was wrong.

A few pics:

Hayes -- starting to look like a little person.

The wine was for the adults.

After cake time, the kids -- including Tom -- were quite amped up.

Ollie prayed for cake, but something tells me she got her fill of other goodies.

No doubt dropping some pearl of wisdom.

Today Rhonda continued the tradition of Reese’s birthday tea party (3I2). The fellas are not invited so I cannot opine on the happenings. The gals did, however, snap a few pics:

The hostess and guest of honor.

Tamir's always ready with a smile.

Both four, neither looking at camera.

What to choose, what to choose ...

Yesterday Reese celebrated her third birthday. Three years since the One Who I’d Jump On a Grenade For entered the world. It was a full day for the ladies. They started out at the Queen Mary Tea Room, came home for a while, went shopping, then we all wound down with a small backyard — or should I say “kitchen” — barbecue.

A few pics:

I hope this turns out to be her favorite present.

Chatting away.

No bun please, Daddy.
