It was a fantastic day. I’ll let the pics speak for themselves:

We woke up on Easter morning -- and another Christmas broke out.

This morning the Jenkins fam headed north to Edmonds to the Otterlee family Easter party.

And what a party it was.

I can honestly say I do not know as many kids as were in attendance for the annual soiree. I’m guessing it was 20-30. It felt like 200-300.

Unfortunately, the kids never got a chance to burn off their energy outside. Because it was raining so hard, we did the Easter egg hunt indoors.

A few pics:

All dressed up with somewhere to go.

No party would be complete if Ronnie and I ...

didn't take pictures of each other holding the kids.

No doubt the most under-blogged theme of most Jenkins family parties is the food — in particular, the quality of it.

Ronnie's vegetable platter.

It is usually (if not always outstanding), markedly better than typical restaurant food I eat.

Jayne's mixed-green-and-glazed-walnut salad.

Today’s food was exemplary. Ronnie nailed it with great appetizers, dips and honey-baked ham (although the latter was purchased darn near ready to eat). But she was not alone. Jayne chipped in with a fantastic mixed green salad. Mito brought her famous brussel sprouts — so good that we’ve been copying the recipe for about a year now. Jeff brought some delicious brie. Eli — well, Eli’s Eli. The guy does cooking like Hogan did golf. Today he brought at least three dishes — that, after spending two days last week cooking for Alex’s birthday party. Hardcore. Super hardcore.

Mito's brussel sprouts.

Eli's casserole. Note the bunny images -- serious detail.

We didn't eat these. At least I didn't ...

Eli's potato casserole.

All the great adult food notwithstanding, the kids took a fancy to the chocolate Easter bunny.

It is a great blessing in our lives to have such good friends. That they all cook so well makes it even better.

Today the Moellers, Otterlees, Cheuks and Benezra joined the family Jenkins for Easter dinner. As per usual, Ronnie went way beyond the call of duty to plan, prepare and organize. Good times were had by all. A few pics:

Ronnie had the Easter table looking quite spiffy.

Reese would look at the camera. Her bro -- not so much.

Uh -- they taught us how to dress like this at Kennedy HS.

We were pleased to have Veronica's dad Carlo join us all the way from Milan.

Sofia (shown here with Max) cleaned up during the Easter egg hunt ...

Finn looked sharp in his plaids, but didn't do so well with the eggs.

When I was growing up, Christmas was the big day for presents.

At Casa de Jenkins circa 2011, Christmas is still the Day of the Big Haul. But Easter ain’t so bad, either. This morning the kids woke up to full Easter baskets and gifts galore, courtesy of the “easter bunny.”

A few pics:

A nice start to the day.

Anything in there for me?

I doubt Ollie thought she'd be dressing up like a bunny this a.m.

Unfortunately Finn's expression foreshadowed his later behavior.

Today we celebrated Easter with the Cheuks, Otterlees and Benezra. Rhonda did a bang-up job as per usual with the holiday food and decorating. Good times were had by all.

The Jenkins and “Smith” families did Easter today and broke in the new, if not nearly complete, Casa de Jenkins. What otherwise should have been a great if rainy day was ruined for me courtesy of Kenny Perry’s Masters collapse. Nonetheless we did get a few good pics:
